Reminder: JH/HS athletes must have a physical and concussion form turned in before the first day of fall practices (Mon, Aug 19). You can turn your forms in anytime this week to the office or to Coach Clow. Or bring them the first day of school. If you still need a physical form, you can get one in Coach Clow's office.

Good morning,
I wanted to address some continued confusion caused by a Facebook post I made yesterday. In my effort to clarify a report in the Western Times, I inadvertently created more confusion. The newspaper accurately reported the information they received. However, I want to clarify that the USD 242 Board of Education did not pass any Title IX policy during the recent policy update review and approval period.
I sincerely apologize for any confusion and hurt feelings this may have caused.
Thank you for your understanding.

Good afternoon,
I wanted to clear up some confusion. There have been rumors that the USD 242 Board of Education passed the Title IX recommendations, but this is false.
The Western Times incorrectly reported that the board approved these recommendations, citing details like who made the motion. While the official meeting notes mention Title IX updates, this was not what was actually voted on.
The board approved a review of the KASB policies, including the GAAC (Title IX) policy, with plans to approve these at the July meeting and for Mrs. Sexon and me to attend required training. However, before the July meeting, the Kansas Attorney General secured an injunction to stop the mandated changes. As a result, the board approved all policies except the GAAC policy at the July meeting, so we continue to operate under the current policy.
We're working with the Western Times to make the corrections. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Hi! Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the weather is going to cooperate with us this evening. I have been following the weather and looking at radar all afternoon and it looks like there are chances for storms all evening, so we will be canceling our movie night tonight. We will look to reschedule if possible.
